Love it. Would buy another in a heartbeat.
There's a moment every operator knows — when you climb down after a long day of moving material and you just think: that machine does exactly what it's supposed to do. That's what we keep hearing from the people running Ashland 1410Es.
"We have a 1410E Ashland just like that. Love it. Would buy another in a heartbeat."
We chose the Ashland range because we believe in recommending machinery we'd put on our own properties. The 1410E earns that confidence every time.
The work it's made for
Most of the jobs that actually need doing on Australian properties don't require a full earthmoving contractor — but they're too big and too important to do half-heartedly. Dam walls. Irrigation levelling. Cut-and-fill between paddocks. Feed pads. Subdivision prep. Track work on the back of the property that's been on the to-do list for years.
The 1410E is built for that work. At under 3.5 m transport width, it moves between paddocks and along the road without hassle. Yet it carries 10.7 m³ heaped in a single pass — that's a serious load — and it works behind tractors from 225 HP right up to 520 HP. Broadacre operations, mixed enterprises, contractors running multiple jobs: it fits in without compromise.
Why direct mount changes everything
The 1410E mounts directly to your tractor's drawbar. It's not a dolly-wheel machine — and the people who've run both will tell you straight away why that matters.
"Direct mounts are so much easier to control as the bridge length helps smooth out the bumps."
"More traction, can back the load into tight areas, handles extremely well."
That 25–75% weight transfer ratio puts the right amount of load on the rear axle — enough for traction and flotation in tough going, without pushing the tractor past its limits. When you need to back into a tight corner, work against a batter, or hold a clean cut on rough ground, the direct mount gives you a level of control a dolly-wheel machine simply can't match.
It comes with two hitch options: a standard ag hitch for pin setups, or a two-pin adjustable construction hitch for heavy, full-time scraping. → See our full direct mount range
Ejector scraper: what it means in practice
No tipping. No tailgate drama. No half-dumped load to deal with in sticky or damp ground. The ejector wall pushes material completely past the cutting edge, every cycle — clean discharge whether you're moving heavy clay or loose topsoil.
The hydraulic system is straightforward: two circuits standard — lift/lower and apron/ejector sequence — with an optional third line for independent apron and ejector control if your operation needs that precision. All lines run internally through the frame, protected from batter walls, channels, and rough country. It's the kind of detail that matters on long days.
From the cab, the high C-frame gives you clear sightlines to the cutting edge. The apron windows let you watch the bowl fill. The 3 m cutting edge is configurable for bulk work or trimming, and the flat floor design with extended sidewall router bits handles loose materials — sand, dry topsoil, irrigation country — without fighting you.
GPS and laser height-control compatible out of the box. If you're running precision ag, it slots straight in.
Built to last — and the numbers back that up
Ashland has been building scrapers since 1953. That's not marketing — it's a track record. And we hear it from operators regularly:
"Mine is 15 years old and is in perfect condition. The good is they pull very easy — I've used a John Deere 4640 when all other tractors are tied up. You can easily do the projects you're talking about."
Maintenance is practical: greaseless nylon bushings at all major pivot points, just eight daily grease points on the swivel knuckle, and weekly grease on the rear wheels. Mechanical lockouts make cutting-edge inspection and change-out safe and simple. Four 17.5-25 OTR tyres keep ground pressure low and paddocks in better shape.
For operations doing more trimming and finish grading, the DOM Engineering team can fit an independent walking beam upgrade — offset tyres, independent beams, improved cross-levelling for sites where grade matters. There's also a fold-down extension rack available if you need to top-load with an excavator or loader.
Local support when it counts
We're the exclusive Australian importer for Ashland. That means parts and spares are stocked right here in Dalby, QLD — not sitting in a warehouse in the US waiting on a ship. When something needs attention, you call us and we sort it out. That's the way we think it should work, and it's the way we've always done business.
Riverina Civil & Plumbing said it well after their delivery: "Thank you DOM Distribution for the sale!" — and that's the relationship we're after. Not just a transaction, but a machine that performs and a team that backs it.

Come and see it at FarmFest 2026
The 1410E will be on our stand at FarmFest next week. Walk around it, ask the questions that matter for your property or your business, and talk it through with the DOM team in person. That's what we're there for.
