Fortini Earthmoving

John Deere 9R and K-Tec 1228 tandem configuration scrapers moving dirt for development in Townsville, Queensland. This project was undertaken by DOM Distributions valued K-Tec customer, Pat Fortini, Fortini Earthmoving.

They seem to be going well. We’re carting fairly long, a 2.8km round trip. They’re just a good machine, easy to load, and you can cart plenty of volume. We’ve been doing around roughly 150-160 loads a day with four tandems. We’re moving anywhere from about 4,500 to 5,000 compactive cubes a day. When you’re running in good dirt, it’s a lot more efficient for us to run the 1228’s. They’re a very low maintenance bucket. We run a fleet of John Deere and CAT buckets (33s). The K-Tec’s are very low maintenance compared to the other brands. Dealing with DOM’s been good and easy.
