Bringing Down the Burp: our project reveal at Beef Australia 2024 Rockhampton

Introducing B.

We can't reveal B's face just yet, as it's a research and development project that's been in progress for a while. With only 46 more days until Beef Australia 2024 in Rockhampton, we're rushing to give you a real-world glimpse.

At Dom Distribution, we understand the challenges facing the global agricultural industry. We're facing a hungry world, quite literally. With a rapidly growing population, dwindling agricultural labor, and the urgent need to sustainably use resources, the demand for agricultural technology to bridge these gaps is louder than ever. Our upcoming product is designed to tackle the challenge of reducing methane emissions.

Australia has collaborated with partners worldwide, witnessing remarkable advancements in animal diets that have made significant strides in addressing the challenge. However, these breakthroughs are mostly applicable in feedlot or intensive feeding environments. The question remains: How do we extend these benefits to the entire herd?

According to Meat and Livestock Australia, there are approximately 28.8 million cattle in our country, with only a small fraction (about 4%) managed in situations where feed rations can be easily controlled. Our aim is to collaborate with the industry to ensure that research advancements reach every corner of the paddock.

We've already invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in developing B, but there's still work to be done. Here's what we can share:

  • As a CAT OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), we'll leverage their power to drive our innovation.

  • With BJ Hydraulics now part of the DOM Distribution family, we aim to integrate efficient, low-maintenance movement as a key feature.

  • We'll enlist external expertise to tackle the software engineering challenges posed by B.

We're keeping some details under wraps for now—Beef Australia 2024 will be the platform for unveiling more. At DOM Distribution, we're committed to continually investing in solutions to enhance efficiency in your business. From our automated feedlot kitchen project to our custom-made chemical batching units like 'Batch Buddy,' used by contract sprayers and local firefighters, we scour the globe to bring you the latest innovations.

B will make its debut at Beef Australia 2024, and we'll also unveil online starting May 5th this year. We're excited to have you join us in maintaining Australia's position at the forefront of the global cattle industry.
